Over the last month or so I have noticed that my 2.5 year old Midnight clown has started to get orange colored blotches across his back dorsal area and a couple small spots on his body. He is healthy and eating anything I throw at him. Anyone experienced this before? I think he looks pretty cool. I will post pics when I get back around my tank later today.

That’s about the best I got at the moment you can see on the underside of the white and across the dorsal fin and saddling the back it’s turning orange

There’s a lot more orange on him than you can see in the picture. He just will not stay still long enough for a picture. Lol

I'm not familiar with Midnight clowns but some clowns do change color as they mature. I have a pair of gold nugget clowns that as juveniles they're white and red, as they mature the white turns a orange/yellow color. Post pics as it changes, always love to see clowns changing colors.

Yeah, a couple of my other clowns have turned darker but this is the first time I have seen a Midnight turning orange. I’d say about 15% of his black is now an orange tint. I think it’s pretty cool looking as well. If I get better pics I will update the post. Thanks

Any update on the orange clown?? My ocellaris is starting to do exactly the same thing but seems otherwise completely healthy/energetic/unstressed. This is the ONLY other place that I’ve seen this documented so I’d love to know how he’s doing!
