So....dosing pump nightmare of 2 part raising alk to high levels is now over.

Phosphate 0.08
Nitrate 100
Ammonia 0.0
Alk 10.9
Calcium 460
Nitrite 0.7
PH 8.3 - 8.5

As a result of colder temperatures here in Scotland I am dosing Kalk in my ATO. Hence I have now shut off my 2 part dosing Z-Complete and Zelements PHPlus

I dose Z-Amino Plus 1.8ml per day

So the history of the tank was about 6 months ago I upgraded to this tank from a 20 gallon Nano tank.

As stressful as this was, the harder part was using 75% new rock and having 25% live rock from the old tank. I couldn't use all of it as there was one piece that just didn't make sense to use.

So my dosing went crazy and the alkalinity was super high and the PH fell. On top of that the Phosphate went to 0.0 and Nitrate stayed at 100.

So after tweaking all of this has leveled off (I may back the phosphate dosing down just a tad)

I did lose a few frags in the move and somehow I acquired some Montipora Eating Nudibranch from one of the frags I got. I am battling those by just blowing them off the Montipora when I see them active at night. I try and catch them and dispose of them.

So that brings us back to the subject. With all of this happening and this pest invasion. I am really thinking of making this into a Zoa / LPS tank.

With the above lighting and such would I need to turn them down a bit?

Any advice and experience is highly appreciated. I have been keeping reef tanks since the mid 80's but took about 15 years off.

Here are some of my zoas and such at the bottom of the tank. They are doing nicely, just concerned about the lighting at the top.
