Might pull the trigger on a Gyre,But which one?

Hello I have a 180 and a 55gallon reef. I have been using sunsun circ pumps which are cheap. I think I need to upgrade some flow so I am thinking of some gyres. I narrowed them down to three types the Jeabo being the cheapest but have heard they can be horrors but would like feed back on them/do they come with a controller like these others?. The second which I am considering the most is the Icecap Gyre which is affordable and I heard are nice pumps for the money. Then lastly is the maspect which is quite expensive. I want to hear about these three or even your favorite pump that would help with an sps tank. Thanks

I know a guy that runs 1 on his 220g on the 55 I would go 130

What about if I go the Icecap rout which is 150 instead of 220? I get over 3k GPH so one of those in the 55 and then two on the 180 should be plenty I would think and too me don't they do the same thing since maspect gave the design of the Gyre to icecap? Just icecap has a crappier controller which makes it cheaper?

I run 2 of the older 150 gyre that I upgraded to the ruggedized blades on a 60 cube that I am setting up for sps. I have been running them at setting 5 constant mode.

AA did an article measuring flow when they came out (without the new blades) and setting 5 was 3,000 gph and setting 10 was 4,000 - so I figure 5 is a good trade between flow, efficiency and noise.

Gives me 100x flow in the cube (on constant) which is my goal running all sps.

But the flow can be adjusted which is better than what I have now. And it is one less pump in the tank.

As I said I suggest running 100x if you want sps only so whatever combo you like that will provide that.

If mixed reef a bit less.

I have only run maxspect but worked well for me. 1 gyre and 3 mp40s here in a 120 all constant mode.

I don't think the 3k will be enough for the 180. I run two maxspect xf250s in my 180 to 80% to get the flow I need.

My experience, In general all the pumps need good clean for every 60 days for better performance,
Jecod - CP40
Pros :
-cheap in price, worth for the money
-Very good customer service from Jecod for spare replacement if damaged. I have contacted Jecod customer service directly and wrote an email explaining the damaged part and got the replacement two times only with baring the courier cost from China.
Cons:
-Bit noisy for some persons
-very delicate parts, chances of getting damaged while cleaning is 80%.
-Wear and tare of the rubber bushes are so frequent (mainly the bush which connects the rotor blade and the motor
-Very less flow modes compared to new Gyre 200 series
-If we need more flow modes we need to buy and wifi link and that too one for each pump
Gyre - 200 series
Pros:
-Value for money
-Good customer service from maxspect when I contacted them directly for an software upgrade of my controller
-Can connect two pumps in one controller (only on 200 series), no need of 3 party software or an wifi to control
-Numerous flow modes, like linking, delay/reverse/synchronised timing between the pumps, programming our own 24hr cycle
-Comes with additional rotors and bushes for replacement
Cons:
-Coming to noise level, there is no much difference between CP40 and Gyre, especially in some flow modes
-Costlier than CP40
Ice Cap Gyre - Since I have not used it not having much idea, but i believe it will be better than CP40

NOTE - I would like you to have a look also on these pumps called "Glamorca" which are manufactures under the license from Maxspect as a cheaper version to compete with CP40.

So both are mixed reefs. So the 55 I might be able to get away with 1 of the icecap version. On the 180 I think the icecaps are two week even if I put two right? I thought putting two gyre's defeat the purpose of having a gyre in the first place? Isin't the point of the pump to push water at the top and have it roll around the tank. Adding two would make them meet in the middle right? Wouldn't just adding one xf250 in the 1080 be better than adding two? or vice versa? Also if you all can post how these things work with two in a tank vs one that would be awesome. I saw the general info up top but I would like a little more in depth if possible.

P.S. I will not run vortechs because they cost way too much for what I think They are worth. Too me two gyres are better than the vortechs I would have to put in. Also I believe it would be cheaper.

In a mixed reef tank with sps you need two so you can get the higher turnover and turbulence they need.

My 240g (96x24x25) is being delivered Saturday, I have 2 MP40's already, but I would like to pick up 2 gyre's, I just don't know which ones to get. The tank is going to be in my family room and will be mostly SPS. Any help would be appreciated.

I think you're going to need larger gyres. Ditch the MP40s and get two of the XF280s. MP40s are going to be very small on a tank that size anyways.

I loved my gyre 130. It was clean (modern look) and really moved a ton of water. I had to deal with coralvue twice for customer service which was severely lacking in my opinion. After a year or so I got tired of the maintenance and went back to Tunze. I did keep the icecap battery backups though.
