I currently have the Fluval 13.5G tank and am thinking of upgrading to a 20 gallon Waterbox - how do I go about doing this upgrade? Do I cycle the 20G then wait to transfer all live rock, coral, fish once done, or is there a more expedite way to do this without having to wait.

Thanks

I’m transferring a 150 into a 375 here soon. No need to cycle the new tank, just transfer all rocks and it’s insta cycled

I agree that you can transfer all rocks and it will be ready for your current bioload. I would personally start with new sand if sand is your thing. If you have corals, I understand the better way to do this is to start the new tank with lower lighting but I have no experience with that. Something to do with corals adjusting to new parameters and lower light helps them acclimate to everything new.
I am doing the same thing. Currently upgrading from my 65 gallon to a 180. Good luck!!
