It has now been 2 years (September 13,2010) since our catastrophic tank failure. It feels like a lifetime ago and yet at times, it feels like it just happened as the memory of that day is etched vividly in our minds. A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into trying to keep our livestock alive for months on end while waiting for a replacement tank and without the AWESOME friends in our local reef club, we would not be where we are today.

Here's the HD video we promised and we hope you enjoy!

Man I sure picked a good time to post a video of my tank! HAHA!

Just stunning!!

Very awesome M&T. Saw the vid late last night. Is that the McKosker's flashing the whole time?

Beautiful Terry! How big is your Sunburst Anthias? Weren't they babies when you got them?

Thanks Chris. These are Lyretail Anthias. We've had this group of 3 for about 3 years now. They started out as all females and were added to an existing harem of 2 males and a female. It wasn't long after that the largest female in the new group took out the old group and morphed into a male. Two of the old group were at least 5 years old. The two current males ignore each other, but can be relentless with the remaining female. We've thought about adding more females, but don't want a repeat of what happened last time.

Thanks Marvin! I need to read the instruction manual on the video camera before the next video and learn how to adjust the white balance and exposure. The clarity of the vid is awesome, but the color and brightness is definitely off.

There are no words to describe just how beautiful it is. Thanks for sharing :-)

What video cam are you using?

It's a Panasonic HDC-T700. It does a great job in normal lighting conditions. Our 400w 14k MH's just really throw it off, LOL. It doesn't help that I do everything I can NOT to read an instruction manual. :snicker:

I thought I was making the correct adjustments while taking the video, instead, I was just changing how it looked on the camera's lcd view screen, lmbo!

Your tank is gorgeous!!!!

Thank you Krista! It still has a way to go, but definitely getting there.

@Marvin, sorry I didn't answer your question earlier. Yes, that was the McCosker's Flasher putting on a show for the camera. Wish he would cooperate and do that when I have the Nikon in hand, LOL.

That is a SMOKIN Hot tank!!!

Makes me really miss my old tank, time to start growing some SPS again.

Wow! Just beautiful. You do have Blotchy Anthias!! I knew I saw them the first time I went through this thread. I am still watching for some but I have read one article that says to be careful buying these if you have carpet anemones. I wonder if that is ralative to this anthias or if it is fish in general?

I need an Aiptasia assasin too! I have tried the Bhergia Nudibranch and Peppermint shrimp but I think they just ended up as an expensive snack for my spoiled fish! Do you have any trouble with the Filefish picking at anything??
