Mike and Terry's 300g Reef

Well built and not over built. Well done. Looks great.

Looks great! :)

Thanks guys! It's nothing fancy, but definitely functional and will easily handle a 60g tank. Terry has been busy the past couple of days setting up a 50g stock vat as temporary housing for our frag tank livestock. She says she'll post up some pics in the next day or two.

We are starting to get SUPER pumped about this project after receiving a call from the tank builder tonight letting us know they will be delivering the new frag tank next Friday (October 4th) - WOOT! So it looks like we'll have it up and running in time for our annual Reef Party!

The temporary housing (round 50g stock vat) for our frag tank livestock is up and running and I managed to get most of the corals/frags moved over today. As promised, here are a couple of pics:

Uh, some of your frags seemed to have turned into colonies. :p

Hahah, yes they have... There are a couple of massive stylo and seriatopora colonies hiding under the rack as well.

How high are your reflectors off of the water? I have the same setup and I'm experiencing spotlighting. My tank has the 2 center braces though.

Amazing thread. You should post several FTS's so we can see the progression over time.

Dang, I'd be ecstatic to have a temp frag tank like that. My 210g looks gross with frags right now lol.
Thanks Chris! The stock vat was cheap and easy since we used equipment we already had on hand.

How high are your reflectors off of the water? I have the same setup and I'm experiencing spotlighting. My tank has the 2 center braces though.

Our reflectors sit approx 10" above the top of the tank brace. We do have 2 wide center cross braces as well and notice a bit of shading under the braces.

Amazing thread. You should post several FTS's so we can see the progression over time.

Thank you for the compliment! We'll try and post up some progression shots soon.

Fantastic thread. Very inspirational. Thank you!

Thank you Peter!

Thank you!

We'll post some pics of the install up tomorrow, but in the meantime, here's a pic of the finished tank taken by our tank builders:

So stay tuned...

Rescued these rbta's from a slab of live rock in the old frag tank. Still have 3 more to remove...

We still have some cleanup and a bit of rescue work to do, but hopefully all will be finished in the next day or two.

Looks awesome! Are those Tao tronic lights? Is the frag tank plumbed in with everything else. Looks like a lot of fun.

What a sweet set up!
