Wow. This Nyos Quantum 120 is amazing. The build quality is unbelievable. The assembly instructions were easy to follow and I was able to put the whole thing together in under 10 minutes. All it took was a flathead screwdriver. Should be very easy to maintain. Very happy with this purchase so far.

So in order to reduce the waterfall noise in my Fiji Cube 20 Sump I raised my water level in the skimmer section to 12”. This worked great at eliminating the noise. However my Nyos skimmer needs to be in 8” of water to work properly.

so I found this acrylic riser that perfectly lifted my skimmer 4” higher.

Ran a quick leak test this morning and found a small drip on the return line. After some trouble shooting I quickly figured out that I forgot to glue that joint.

Waiting for glue to dry before trying the leak test again. On a positive note I’m super happy with how quiet the bean animal overflow and Syncra SDC pump combo is!
I just filled mine with water and I had a small leak as well. Yup, i forgot to glue a joint.

Finally got around to hooking up the ATO reservoir to the float valve in the sump. Just going with a simple gravity fed ATO. Hid the reservoir behind the couch and used some clips to run the tubing to the float valve.

I used a cheap IKEA TV stand to raise my reservoir higher than my sump.

Got a Hydros controller for my birthday and hooked it up. Also added LED lights to my sump area along with some cable management.

Picked up a couple of new fish today. Finally got another Midas Blenny which I have wanted since I had one in my old tank a decade ago. Also grabbed a baby Chalk Bass. Off to quarantine they go!

Snagged this guy today. He is fearless. LOL at my Midas Blenny catching a peek of his new tank mate.

Nice job off to a great start. Chalk bass is pretty hardy, if you change mind on another get him in earlier as they are not aggressive at all.

Air Freshener likely cause of a white slime outbreak in my tank:

Thankfully I was able to get it under control within a week with manual removal and some Microbacter Clean.
