Proper acclimation is a key point for success in proper propagating of coral specimens. ;Woot
pfffffftttt.... acclimating corals is non sense. dip them in pest killer and glue them in.

the previous views are not necessarily those of R2R management or other reefers but apparently work swell for me.
the pics don't lie.

I agree. Unless you have 1.020 or 1.030 sg, You may need to rethink things.

Edit: acclimating corals is pretty big gamble. I have had them go down hill.

Interested as I don't dip or quarantine corals, how confident are you in the vendors' lack of pests?
Do you find stuff except bristleworm babies after dipping?

Lol. I usually just do a 20 minute temperature acclimation and then add them straight to the tank.

(I will sometimes do a little drip acclimation if it’s LPS or SPS - I did this for my hammer and torch)

bristle worms i don't worry about.
early on i lost between $500-$1000 in zoas to zoa nudi's.
i was only buying from a local basement seller.
the guy that taught him, another local, dipped everything.
turns out he didn't.
so everything gets dipped, regardless of who i get it from.
no fish qt.... that's something i will never do no matter what.
i've had 3 fish have ich outbreaks, separate incidents. after adding them.
two died. one did not. none of the other 20-30 fish had outbreaks.
more non sense.

Cool, just wondered as I get site seen rather than pics and shipping, zoas are always dipped.

drip acclimation is definitely non-sense. stuff in a bag getting stressed releasing toxins in the bag.
yea.... i want it sitting in there longer.... drip... drip.... drip.

and i get you got "rock stars" here telling you how to do things. while i respect their opinions, i disagree with most.
after all... i test my salinity with one of these.

and i manually top off my evaporation.

heck... i even mouth syphon when i'm doing a water change.
