I just removed 7 or 8 from the hammer. I found another on a zoa plug. Still none on the rock itself so far. Hopefully there’s not too many. Definitely need to get some bumble bee snails! Any idea as to where I can get some?I used worm earlier but that's the wrong term. I meant snail.
I didn't say covering. They are tiny any blend in well. If you actually don't have Any more, I'd do the work to ensure they cannot spread. Search and destroy style.
I never saw a single one in my tank before going fallow. A month in, I noticed 15 on Torch Island. Kept actually looking, and found hundreds. Unsure if the prior inhabitants were eating them, or if I just wasn't looking for them.
This is specifically what I'm talking about.

Pulled this off of a plug this afternoon.
I dip everything in Brightwell MediCoral. I have some Lugol’s arriving tomorrow. Will the lugols kill the snails?trusted my seller (local basement FB) to dip his in coming and out going being his sensei taught him that.
got a case of zoa eating nudi's.
i now dip everything no matter who it's coming from.
I ordered mine from reef cleaners. I've had two good experiences and one less than with them. I will still recommend them.I just removed 7 or 8 from the hammer. I found another on a zoa plug. Cool, I’ll look into them. Thank you!I ordered mine from reef cleaners. I've had two good experiences and one less than with them. I will still recommend them.
I always try to remove the plug if possible. If I can’t remove it, I typically “trim” it up as much as possible. The hammers I left it on because I had them sitting in the sand bed. I removed the teal one that I was asking about yesterday, and glued it to the rock. I might end up doing the same with the rest.I don't know of any dips that will kill them.
One of the myriad of reasons removing and discarding plugs while initial dipping is helpful.
Awesome thanks for the advice! I’ll keep this in mind for the futurejmo opinion,in past when buying tank full of rock w the v's. remove corals ,clean off manually, crush, scrape, glue if nessasary.
the rock super saturated salinity soak ,1.040+ 72 hrs,kills the V's,bristle worms,pods ,crabs.algae.
down side ,burns coralline, prob kills most of good bacteria in rock, but not all ,would rinse in 1.025 ,no bad smell.
has worked for me for over 20yrs.
put rock back in a system within a few days coralline sheds, pods inhabit, seems to work .
have done this w thousands of lbs of live rock...![]()
Bumblebee snails are about the size of a #2 pencil eraser and opportunistic feeders. They cruise constantly and I've heard they hunt by smell. They seem to just chow down on Vermited snails at the base. I've pulled a few piped from the frag rack after seeing a bb go through there and it seemed to have chewed through the entire base.in case you aren't aware.. bumble bee snails eat snails. meaning when the vermatids are gone they move on to your good snails. or maybe even before. @Lost in the Sauce i've never had them. are vermatids so tasty to them, or because they are stationary so less work, the bumble bee's go for them first?
No I was not aware of that. Thank you for letting me know! I mostly have hermit crabs for my CUC, but I do have maybe 5-8 snails in there. To be fair, hermit crabs and my emerald crab could eat the snails as well. I may just have to replenish my CUC periodically to make up for lost snails.in case you aren't aware.. bumble bee snails eat snails. meaning when the vermatids are gone they move on to your good snails. or maybe even before. @Lost in the Sauce i've never had them. are vermatids so tasty to them, or because they are stationary so less work, the bumble bee's go for them first?

That colony is beautiful! How can you tell when it’s happy? I believe Mike is happy, but also feel like it may want some more lightMost people know my dragon soul, currently sulking as it needs more light but a goby is annoying it if I move it up, this was June before the goby issue started and it was getting loads of light, start it low.
Yes I bought a colony as I didn't want to see it fragged, my "colony" is about 30 heads.

i've bought from both and will buy from both again.Has anyone ordered from Zoanthids.com? They have a live sale today, and I’m debating between following that one, or UniqueCorals on Instagram. I don’t have money for either, but I’ll still be following at least one of them
