So let me start off by just saying I've been away from the hobby for about a year and I just couldn't stay away! Then I saw this challenge and I just couldn't resist.
Now comes the decision on what tank to setup and what equipment to throw at it. Good thing is I've amassed a bit of nano equipment in my day, so the majority of tech goodies is petty much done.
In thinking of what to setup, I have lots of small tanks ranging from 4-40 but I really didn't like any of them so I decided to go with a Mr. Aqua 12L.
Just placed the order about 10 minutes ago...and the waiting begins, now time to find everything. I'm a bit cluttered and not the most organized so this should be fun.
Well, thought I'd throw my hat in the ring and to say good luck to all! :nerd:
Next post will be a rundown of equipment as I find them lol

Glad to have you back, Mike! Good luck with your build and looking forward to seeing your progress.

SWEET! Welcome back bro!

Awesome!! Welcome back!! Can't wait to see the progress!!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, I hope I don't get lazy again as it happens quite often!
So on to the equipment list:

Tank: Mr. Aqua 12L
Light: ATI Powermodule 4x39
Skimmer: Had a Warner Marine H1 but the pump is bust so up in the air right now
Controller: Apex
Pumps: thinking about an mp10es

Tank won't be coming in until Thursday but I already have a 20H starting the cycle and such. Don't need the main tank to start cycling the rocks!

In terms of livestock, I was just watching blue planet and I'm thinking a pipefish/nano goby tank. It was always going to be a nano goby tank but I saw those pipefish and I've never done pipefish before so maybe something new will keep me enthralled!

wait a sec...we cant edit our posts now?!
man i have been gone for a while!!!

ATO: Tunze osmolator

lol totally forgot about the start date!

not really much to update, still piecing out the drygoods
i do have water and cycling but in another tank as it took a while to figure out which tank i wanted
i have decided not to add a sump and keep it simple with just water changes
placement is still undecided as im thinking on a countertop but not totally decided

anyways there has been some progress, water is in the tank and i have 2 mp10wes on and i have rock just trying to decide on how i want to scape and what i want to do really
still havent decided if i wanted to go bb or sand
lights have not been hung as i still need to get a hanging kit and trying to figure out how im going put a chiller on this without a sump and keep the look fairly clean
i am a stickler for not using the ac and well lets just say if i dont put a chiller on this thing then im just going to have a tank of soup!
im planning on working on the tank this weekend, had to work last weekend so didnt get much done

welcome back, good start so far. goodluck in the contest keep the updates coming

Tank is up and running with water sand and rocks and the mp10s are on and blasting away
im finding a lot of evap though so gotta figure out how to control that without a sump

why cant everything be easy and touchscreen and wireless?!

ah and i do have livestock purchased and almost ready to go once i can figure out how to get a chiller on this tank without having to drill or put a sump on it
my receipts are waiting to be scanned and uploaded...with pics of the corals too if i ever hang my light and get them in there
