Why is it that Aquaforest Reef salt has increased in price in the UK by 43% in the last 2 months? It's now more expensive than some premium brands. Is it the same in the States or just the usual "Rip-off UK"?

Not sure what your price is but I can order it on saltwater aquarium for $82.49 usd. That said, I don’t use the salt so I don’t know if it increased or not.

Yup, seems like you guys are also being hit hard. That's £60 for 19kg right there. Two months ago I was paying £48 for 23kg, now it's £70. I can buy H2Ocean for £66, so I guess Aquaforest doesn't want the UK's business anymore.
Switch! Competition sometimes leads to better for hobbyists

Do not take it personally. Greed is everywhere during the pandemic. Call and ask them. They will tell you COVID is the reason.

Oh I'm switching all right. Back to H2Ocean. I'll move away from all the other AF stuff I dose as well. A 43% increase in price is disgusting. It's profiteering. Probably blame it on Brexit.

You forgot Brexit. Everything has gone up in price since leaving the EU.
No, I did mention Brexit tongue in cheek as an excuse above, but that was a year ago, not a month or two ago. Nothing else has increased in price by 43% that I can see and other European goods have remained at roughly the same price in the same time span. No, this reeks to me of taking the P at the customers expense.

Why do you call it greed? This is a luxury good that has many many alternatives product for which someone can easily switch away. Costs have gone up and these businesses had a choice....raise prices or go out of business. In my vocabulary, that is desperation not greed.

They've gone from being pretty much the cheapest on the market to one of the most expensive. No other brand seems to have tagged on 43% in two months. I understand inflation but we are not living in Zimbabwe here. 5-6% maybe. This is not a business survival tactic.

When you use bogus excuses to justify price increases, it is greed.

Salt in general has gone up but the import costs are likely the impact which has sky-rocketed

so sick of folks defending these companies whenever a reefer brings up a legitimate gripe…

not saying you’re a fanboy, just saying in general.

Its not just salt but goods in general. Gasoline. Ect.
Its the pandemic. Or endemic. Or whatever it is... lol.
D
Agree- Make a long story short - There isnt much that has NOT gone up in price
