Are they usually supposed to be this furry? As this piece has grown, the polyp extension has more than doubled from when I got it from the lfs.

I like it but the corallites have lost some of the vibrance in color as the polyps have extended more.

Are the polyps shading the corallites so they lightened in color? Or should I just be happy with a green fuzzy stick lol.

some milli have crazy long extension. its a good thing, unfortunate sometimes it does hide the colors of the corallites

Polyps in milli are the main draw. I wish mine had it. My acro only extend at night. Have been told and read different ideas on it. IMO the most plausible is polyps are used to gather food. If your water is too clean they are searching for food. If you have nutrients in water or high par lighting. They will not extend as much. Since the lighting and nutrients are abundant. No need to constantly be gathering.
 
There is something wrong with it. Send it my way and get it out of your tank ASAP!
