I just ordered a few multi colored Milli acro colonies and trying to see what is the best place to put them? Flow and light wise? I have a standard 180 with led lighting and mp60 and mp40 for flow. Where should I place them? I've seen a lot of pictures with crazy polyp extensions and I want to do the same.

Mine do well with moderate lighting and high flow. I think that's pretty typical with most milleporas.

They will take as much light as you can give them, same for flow. The polyp extension seems best with mine in turbulent and high flow. Sometimes they will lose a little color under super high light but will get more growth.

Thanks. I think I would prefer color over polyp extensions. I know one colony hopefully will be orange base with green tips. But I guess I will see when they arrive the true colors

I definitely agree with Greg on the high flow/polyp extension and lighting. I keep my milleporas in moderate light to bring out the colors.

Thats sounds awesome !! Wild millepora colonies usually keep their colors too. I'll certainly up for another trade :)

Sounds like a few sweet pieces man, i have my rainbow milli almost directly in line with my powered while still being turbulent and about 2/3 the way up the tank.

Yeah Greg we can definitely work something out again. I hope the move went well. I actually need some cherry charms again, they melted on me, but everything else is doing well, few have added several polyps.

Mine are in the highest flow and light in the tank and loving it. I noticed a big jump in growth/branching once I moved them into direct flow.

I'm going to try to put them near the main flow areas under some higher light but may start out in my sand bed friday when they arrive.

From my experience, and like others have stated, moderate to high flow and moderate lighting. High lighting tends to bleach out the colors in millis (not bleach out completely, just more faded/pastel colors). I always place them at the bottom of my rock work which gets around 250 PAR, vs the top which gets 800+ PAR. Not the best video, but this is a green milli under "wave" mode on an MP40.

Thanks for the video. Exactly the polyp extension I'm looking for. I'm just worried that my leds will bleach up high so I will put in high flow and start at the bottom of the tank.

My millepora seem to take as much light and flow that I will give them.....colours are always better under higher light too.

Also someone commented that wild millepora always keep there color and from my experience that isnt true. Often two color millepora (say red with blue tips) they will lose the secondary color. Also millepora bleach easily in shipping so often they come in looking different then they will after being in an aquarium for some time....ex. yellow millepora turns to green millepora.
