Ok so I have a Milwaukee MA887 digital Refractometer but when I use the calibration fluid it gives me “air” code, Lens is covered with fluid.
I test with Rodi and it reads 1.000 but when I use the validation fluid it’s 1.022 not (1.025 as specified)
My old faithful swing arm is reading 1.026,
Friends newish swing arm reads 1.024
Milwaukee reads 1.024
What’s your thoughts? Is it retirement time for old faithful?

The Milwaukee unit is quite good but remember and try and keep the the temps. as close together as possible as it will be more accurate the closer they are, even though they have ACC the best is if you have to bring the temp up on the unit to put your hand over it or in your arm pit. Swing arm are iffy, and you must let it set for some time so plastic arm temp equals the water 10 - 15 min.
