I just got my new Milwaukee Salinity tester in the mail today and I got it out and put the "steamed distilled water" over the glass and pushed zero and it read 1.000 and so they I wiped it away with a paper towel and then I put the 1.025 solution over the camera and it kept reading 1.026-1.027 so they I even tried to just put the steam distilled on the glass and my refragtometer says my tank is at 1.023 and the Milwaukee says 1.025. I just calibrated the refractometer as well.

I just calibrate with 0tds ro/do and use 1.028 as my reading for the Milwaukee. I used 1.027 for the first 6 months but thought it might be a bit low since the icp tests came back a little low. I figured just pick one and keep it there as the different areas the corals come from range a fair amount.

Mine is the same way. I just double checked it with 2 other refractometers and subtract .004 off the milwaukee. Good thing is its consistently off. If I get something out of normal I double check with my old refractometer before changing anything.

Nothing is perfect Not the Milwaukee either. I can chime in with the others here, i calibrate with RO and use 1.027 (works for my unit!).

No. I had tlf and 2 brs standards for my manual refractometer each one was different. Decided just to use pure water calibration and got the Milwaukee. I tested the 1.025 and the other standards once and decided 1.027 then 1.028. I did recently get the hydros salinity meter and get when calibrated it shows 34.8psu with Milwaukee at 1.028. used to test the sg every day with the Milwaukee but now only when I make new water or if some weird reading from hydros. The Milwaukee is the best piece of reef equipment you can buy.
