Milwaukee saltwater validation kit

I have contacted Milwaukee through there chat several times but not getting anywhere. Can anyone tell me where I can find the calibration and validation solution?

If you are talking about the Milwaukee digital refractometer the calibration solution is just distilled water. The validation solution they provide is not very good and if you have some cheap kitchen scales you're better off making your own from table salt and water.

Thanks. I just read an article on this site with instructions on making my own. Yes I made a mistake. The calibration fluid I have works..1.000 it's the validation fluid is old and not reading 1.026 or 35ppt. Milwaukee Instruments never responded, will never buy from them again.

I love the MA887 digital refractometer but the reference solution they provide with it is garbage. I followed Randy Holmes Farleys recipe to make my own and it worked perfectly. I usually use RODI water for calibration but they recommend distilled water. There is no reason to pay way to much for either of these solutions from Milwukee.

I do too. Just not sure the 2L soda bottle is the correct water amount for the receipt. Looked up converting grams to ml. That didn't help because it asks for density to calculate. Should have paid more attention in chemistry 35 yrs ago..

Here is a thread where Randy talks about it. Basically I dissolved 36.5 grams of Mortons table salt into 963.5 ml (or grams it's the same thing for water) of RODI water. I multipled the recipe in the thread by 10 since my scales are just cheap kitchen scales and not very accurate. The more you make the less small measuring errors matter.
