Mimic tang and Tomini tang?

Hello I have a baby half black mimic tang in my 70 gallon Red Sea tank. I was curious if I could put a tomini tang (this being the smallest tang l found in research) with the mimic? I know tangs are aggressive towards other tangs but not sure if that applies to mimics. My guy is very small right now, so could a small tomini tang work? I also have a coral beauty and two baby clownfish in the tank.

Every tang is different. I would recommend introduction the tomini tang into an isolation container (bigger the better). That will allow both tangs to see each other, but not interact. After a week or 2, release the tomini and your will probably see very little aggression.

Those are both smaller tangs that can handle a 70g tank. You may need to move some rock around or add a mirror to the glass if you notice the mimic attacking the tomini.
My only thought is why not add a purple or yellow tang instead or the tomini? The half black and tomini are both similar in color (shades of grey) and won't really stand out. I'd prefer more color. Just my $.02

Dont both of those tangs need a lot of swimming room? Ive looked at them and think they are gorgeous but have been told by people at my LFS and other blogs that those two tangs are too big for my tank, otherwise I would love to add one of those guys

Tangs are healthier and less aggressive when they have more swimming room, more caves, more algae to graise on, and fewer competitors for that algae.

Some in the tang police would tell you not to add a 2nd tang to a 70g period. I think it depends on the size of the fish and your subsequent care.

I had 2 smaller reefs in the past with 2 tangs.
I had a purple and a tomini in a 52 corner. And I had a sailfin and a hippo in a 65. The hippo and sailfin ended up in my 210 when I upgraded but the purple and tomini lived happily in my 52 corner for 6 years until I sold the setup, due to divorce, to a friend who kept them together even longer. I did not add them to new tanks. I waited for the tanks to be established 1 year. And I fed a good variety of herbivore and meaty foods to keep them happy.

What is the longest dimension of the tank? Ctenochaetus tangs (such as the tomini) are the only genus of tangs that should be kept in any tank that isn't at least 4 feet long on one side. The footprint of the tank matters more than the water volume for tangs, as they like to use all of the available swimming space available to them. My display is 4 foot x 2 foot tank, and my only tang is a yellow tang that I purchased as a baby from Biota. In one year, he's already grown to about 4 inches long, and I'd be very hesitant to add another tang to the mix in my tank, let alone a smaller one.

I have 17 tangs in my 300g tank . They don’t fight with each other except 2 purple tangs . in general, half black minic tang and bristle tooth tang are mild tempered compare with many others . When u pack them together and feed them enough . They really nice to each other . Even my powder blue , I never saw him going after other tangs .
