I have had my mind stream operational for a couple of weeks now and have noticed the mind stream alkalinity reading about 1 or 2 dkh higher than both a Hanna checker and a salifert kit. From my understanding the mind stream should actually be slightly lower than both the Hanna and salifert due to it reading carbonate alk while the others read total alk. I'm definitely not chasing numbers and changing any settings on my system due to this but am wondering if any mind stream users out there have also noticed this or is it just me? Any info you have is greatly appreciated.

Very inserted and following, could it be the hanna checkers and salifert are +/- 1 or 2. Im really not sure, but I have read that the can not be the most accurate. Not sure just my two cents.

Also was thinking about buying a Mindstream but if the numbers are off that much form launch ill wait for updates. Where do you have the mindstream in your tank? In DT, refugium, return pump area, skimmer area? Im pretty sure mindstream posted somewhere that it needs to not be in a bubbly place?

I would trust your Salifert reading, and if your corals are responding well to the current conditions, I would not change anything you are doing based on the Alk readings from the Mindstream.

Here are my current results.
My MS is currently measuring 7.86
My Salifert measuring 8.1
My Hannah 8.0
And my kH Director measures 8.0
I did have a lot of issues originally with MS but after talking to Cust Service over the past 3 weeks they were able to pinpoint my issue to a missing “brush” inside the disk.
disk replaced and problem solved.

Good God your water testing system is sweet:) I am drooling just looking at all the data you have at your finger tips.

I would kill to get and MS right now.

Oh so in your original post you meant .1 or .2 off, not 1 or 2?

that’s pretty darn good, in my opinion! Especially if it’s stable.
