I've had a BTA for around a year now. The little guy just doesn't seem to want to grow. He was a little larger than he is now around 8 months ago(only about 1"). For the last 6 months he opens up to be around 2" across. He has never been receptive to being spot fed. He is in an area with good flow and 210 PAR for 6 hours a day + ramp up/down.
Do some BTA's just stay small?

Are you feeding it?
I've tried in the past, but not recently. It would rarely if ever eat anything. Normally whatever I tried to feed it would just float off.

That’s not a good sign. Mine eat like pigs. Literally anything that touches them, they shrivel up around it. Raw shrimp seem to have the best response in both Growth and Color.

I never thought he was going to live starting a week after I got him. Yet here he is some 6 to 9 months later. I'll give him credit, he isn't a thriver, but he is a survivor.

Well with that statement it sounds like he has taken this last handful of months and put all his effort towards survival and recuperating. In another 6 months so he should (in theory) start to take off if he is healthy and fed heavy. Obviously feeding isn’t essential, but in my findings, it increases growth.

Probably would be a good market for mini’s if they stayed small. I got a small one about 1.5” a month and half ago and it has doubled in size. I don’t spot feed it much, maybe once a week.
I can sell you a gracilis :D! Or a majano... they're mini anemones for sure.
