I've had a 30 gallon Deep Blue tank for about 10 months. Decided I wanted to try a small anemone in the tank. Went to my LFS and they had some nice looking Mini Carpet Anemones. Being the "frugal" shopper that I am, I picked up 2 of them as the LFS was selling 1 for $25 and 2 for $40. I got them home and put them in my tank. Now 2 days later, I have 4 nems as each one has split. One pair is on top of one of my rocks, while the other pair has found a nice shady area. I have an AI Vega above the tank.

Couple of questions:
  • Does the split mean my nems were stressed or is this "normal"
  • How long should I wait to feed the nems now that they have split

This is my first nem(s) so appreciate the help!

They were likely a little stressed from changing tanks, but that's normal. Mini carpets are pretty tough so there's probability nothing to worry about. You don't have to feed them at all unless you want them to keep growing and splitting. But they should be ready to eat in a couple weeks.

Which color mini carpet are they? If they keep splitting and you want to sell some, send me a PM
