Guys

its ok to rinse marinepure with rodi water to remove sponges and detritus?

my water its cloudy now.

i did a w/c, replace carbon, and clean the skimmer cup.

i think that i made a BIG mistake

I think you made too many changes all at once which could have led to the mini cycle. Too many variables to rule out. I rinse my marine pure with waste water during water change (before I start siphoning sand.) Give it a couple days to catch up and keep us updated.

That is ok to do. You are cloudy due to the poured water from the change kicking up detritus. Nothing you do to a marinepure block will harm your tank, they aren't critical surface area. Since you can remove a mp block altogether and not cause a cycle, rinsing one won't harm either, even if you used tap water. We have a 23 page thread on controlling mini cycles, and detritus causes it 100% of the time no form of rinsing is antibacterial.

This thread is rinsing people's entire sandbed, all at once, with tap water. Far harsher than your single block rinse using nicer water
