I took the ceramic media out of my HOB filter because it was a nitrate trap and that forced a cycle on my tank.

My ammonia is at 0.8 and it’s stocked with corals.

Should I do a big water change to save my coral or should i let the cycle happen?

I would do a water change to help it out for sure.

If you have fish they don’t like ammonia in the water.

I never thought about corals, but certainly clams will suck up nh3 from the water, and so would algae.
Good question, thanks for posting guys.

1. How big is your tank?
2. .8 of ammonia shoudl cause problems. are you sure its accurate?
3. DO you have any fish - they would not be doing well if it were that high?
4. DO you have any live rock, etc - that bacteria could have colonized. I would find it surprising that removing ceramics would cause a cycle to 0.8 ammonia.

Slight water change and add some more liquid bacteria. Don't chase numbers.
