Hey guys
I moved my 20 nano reef to the kitchen 2 days ago because we're putting new floors in the living room...
I broke the tank down, water into clean buckets, livestock and LR in temporary containers, used the same water back in the tank and replaced livestock and rock when substrate calmed down a bit

I come home today and my livestock are all good, corals are open and full.
After checking perimeters I have
Ph. 8.2
Ammonia 0.25!!!!!
Nitrite 0
Nitrate. 80 ppm plus!!!!!!!!

What gives?? Am I missing something?? Is my tank going through some kind of mini cycle??
I did play around with rock scaping but I don't think anything had time to dry out? I tried to make sure I kept it moist!!
Help!!!

How old was the setup before moving? If your sand bed got that stirred up, then yes it is totally possible that your experiencing a mini cycle.
Several larger water changes will correct the issue.

The system is probably 7 months old.
I didn't want to move it but had to. I'll tackle large water changes ASAP thank you
