I have a carpet hem that I have had now in my tank for about two weeks.

Every night it opens up flat like it should be during the day, but as soon as the lights come on in the morning it balls up like it was eating or just hates the lights.

I am running a T5 HO, one coral blue, and one Sun Bright 10,000K.
Three LFS have no idea why it is doing so, and only one person told me something that makes a little sense. He said it's sleep cycle could be reversed.
If that is the case, how would you change this?

I have a few times, and it just comes back out into the light. Tonight I will see if I can find a way to keep it more located in the shade. I also have had the 2 wave makers off for the last few days, and only circulating is from the inlet pipe.

Same thing happened to me. It changed shape a lot. Some times it would look droopy and other times it would look great. I dont know what the end result would have been though due to me getting rid of it. My clowns would not host it, they were actually scared of it and it ate my fish like crazy! Youll prob have some of. The same problems. Good luck!

I have 7 mini carpets in a species tank. Leave it alone. Continuing to move it will just stress it out more. It needs time to adjust, give it time.

I have not touched it even though I figured I would... I have 6 anemone's in my tank so far and looking for more.

I have a Condy, Pacific, the maxi mini carpet, and three rock flowers I picked up today for a great price I could not pass up... Guessing I am doing a full 29 anemone tank. I know the flow will not host in it, but he is more interested in trying to host on the tuxedo urchin... silly clown fish!

That explains why mine wouldnt even though the guy at my lfs said they would.

Best advice I was ever given years ago when I started reefing, take all advice with a grain of salt and do your own research. Don't buy anything because "he/she says so". There will always be another critter that comes along if this one sells before you're back to buy it. Don't get caught up in the moment.

**UPDATE**

The mini carpet is now open during the day... I left only the blue lights on for three days and off at night.. I started to slowly introduce the white lights from one hours and now up to 4 hours during the day..

Today I had the whites on for 5 hours and it did not try and curl up to hide from the light.... YAY
