Shouldnt a mini maxi have a Sticky foot ? I can turn mine over and the foot isnt sticky..... I set it in place and If i turn the flow up it will blow off the rock. The face is sticky but not super sticky. And it will ball up once it gets off the rock.....Seams like most of everything i read about them there soposed to Grap the rock right away.

So for now i have the heater pluged in and one Tiny power head to circulate the water...

Whats going on with my nem ??

They aren't like a peel and stick. lol
They grab, when they want to, not when you want them to.

LOL…peal and stick!

Put him in a non-flow area of your tank….even if that means that you’ll need to put him in a small Tupperware, and put that in your tank. When he attaches, he’ll “walk” to where he’s happy. Just hope there’s no corals in his way.

Your other option is to turn pumps off until he attaches.....and that might be some time.

Lol i know i have a BB tank and just dont want the Nem to bounce around like a tumbleweed. I have it on a rock with a crevasse to tuck in. But it seems to like to stay curled up. Like its hiding its foot.... And will fall off time to time and roll around the tank. I have left one Lil power head on and held it in place for a min or two. And it seems like it might have gotten a foot started. Im going to turn the other pumps on now. Hope it moves around by itself instead of poping loose and rolling around.

The tumbleweed imitation is normal. He'll find his way to a spot he likes. Odds are against the peel n stick approach.

No its there. It had a chunk of rubble inside. Now its not..... Im hoping it will attach in a day or two. Its from divers den. Never had a bad experience. I just expected to have it attach rightaway.

I'm not a super 'nem expert. I have owned around 8 mini max so far. They may not attach if stressed and/or new to the tank. Try keeping a breeder box with some rubble and let them settle in. You can then super glue the rubble rock where you want your 'nem. Keep in mind they may not stay there. I've seen many of them go exploring new environments before finding the exact "right" spot.

Ive kept them for several years. When I first got mine I put them in my nano with acans and chalice and did'nt want them to wander and sting stuff so I got some shells from a craft store (real non treated) and put them in shells. They seemed to like thier foot to have a place to go. I liked it cuz I could move them if I wanted.
I now have them in a nano of their own along with sexy shrimp so don't use the shells anymore.
I had one that had a piece of rubble stuck in it's foot when shipped and it got injured in shipping and I lost it. Hopefully that won't be the case.
It prolly just needs time.
This is back when I got my first ones.

Thats awesome! Last night it was a tumble weed when i went to bed. So i put some rocks around my heater so it wouldn't get burned. In the morning it looks like it has found a spot on the back side of my rock work. Should i leave it there and see if it will wonder to the front where i can see it? or should i move that rock its on?

I'd give him at least a week before you try moving the rock. It could just be the spot he likes depending on lights and water movement.

They get almost all of their food photosynthetically. Many don't feed anything at all. If it'll make you feel better give it a tiny tiny piece of shrimp in a week... but even that's not necessary. My carpet will accept food maybe once/twice a month.

Ok i thought People were feeding once a week? Huh guess i wont worry then.

shse666 Ill deffinatly do the breeder box with the next one. I was thinking about glueing the rock down but didnt know if it would cause any problems.....

It's actually harder to do nothing than something. I always feel like I should be actively trying to get a new nem or coral situated when I really should just let it be. They know they're doing. Someone else will have to correct me if I'm wrong but I believe those maxi/minis won't require any feeding except perhaps the occasional mysis. They'll grow faster with it but don't require it.
