Things are not going so hot at the moment.
I’m looking to get rid of the sand I currently have, it’s a super thin layer of probably less than 1 inch in some places, and is made up of mostly crushed coral. It’s ugly. I’m looking at buying a couple inches of nice sand today, would I be able to just scoop this old crap out and place a nice new layer without causing too many problems?
Second question: I will also be looking to start again on my rock work. I was thinking of buying new rock (not live rock) and redoing some of the scape.
I was going to keep one or two pieces of old rock in the tank to seed, and put the rest in the sump to act as biological filtration. How much of an issue will this all cause me? Will I cycle too hard and kill everything, or will it be fine
