hi all, tank has been up and running for a few years 90 gallon mixed reef, heavily LPS, just recently dipped my fingers into some scolys as everything has been doing great.

last water change was on 7/14 I try and do a 20 gallon change weekly, we are currently going thru a reno so last change before this was 6/25, and 6/13 respectively.

parameters are

78-79 * F
1.025 sg
9.5 dkh (hanna checker)
420 cal (salifert)
.0113 p04 (hanna PPB checker.)
I run ROX carbon and change monthly

livestock are pair of clowns, royal gramma, leopard wrasse, cleaner shrimp and 2 pistol shrimp.

I have 2 gyre 3k's running 7 mixed but mirrored schedules throughout the day, minimum flow is 10% max flow 80% mag9 return with a RFG nozzle.

lights are china box mars aquas running no lens 10" off water blues 40% whites lowest % to turn on. blues run 1130 am to 930 pm whites from 130pm-830pm

ok so my issue is with a new scoly I got from @AquaSD it looks like a possible piece of tissue came in damaged that I didn't see I did not dip as I normally do for fear of stressing a scoly.

here is a picture day I received it and placed in tank, notice in the upper right corner small area of tissue damage? looked pretty good otherwise, plumped up quickly.

I moved it (dumb probably) after it started to deflate and show skeleton from what I thought was too much flow/light

7/15 you can see skeleton poking through it's flesh.

I fed it reefroids, and it did eat which I know is a good sign, just looking out for it as it's the first time I've spent this much on a single coral.

fast forward to today, you can see my mini's are pretty happy nearby, I tried to move the big guy into a lower flow/lower light area, should I move it back?

here is a FTS to give you a better idea of where they are at, left hand side under that ledge.

sorry for the long post, just trying to include as much info as possible.

so I dipped the scoly after noticing some vermetid worms right at the damaged area.

you can see them here

I also removed as many as I could manually. a few still survived the Bayer dip. I placed it in a little bit more light and it is doing much much better.

it's eaten twice and has its feeder tentacles out at night now now.
