Whats the minimum amount of time the lights need to be on for a FOWLR with some GSPs and Xenia without affecting the coral or fish health .

The fish likely don't care. For the corals, somewhere in the 6 hour range would be a long enough photoperiod. Are you just trying to keep algae in check?

This is an interesting question without a simple answer.

Those corals aren’t going to die if you leave the lights off for a week, but if you have weak lights the same corals could die from lack of photonic energy.

The fish don’t need light to survive.

If you have adjustable leds you can reduce the PAR intensity (or increase it) and adjust the amount of illumination time accordingly.

What are you trying to accomplish, what lights do you have, etc.

I would just throw a single reef brite lumi lite pro 50/50 over the tank. If it is a wide tank, then maybe shift around their options

I am planning to go for a 3 week vacation my friend will feed the fish . I want to reduce algae on glass and some on the rocks too .

Just throw some cheap black boxes on. They seem to do the trick and you could probably get away with more coral if you were bored

Algae issues and planning to go for a vacation

I’m not familiar with the output of your light but it may not be able to keep soft corals very long? (Separate issue)
6 hours is a good answer for your situation, but you might want to get a better light when you return from vacation

You can leave it off for 3 weeks and the softies will survive just fine, gsp and xenia are hard to kill even when we want to.
I would say 4-6 hours if you wanted good growth or 2 hours if you want them getting some light and not lose any color when away.

didnt see the light before but yea a better light will help the corals in general, will matter the tank size (or really depth) to see if these lights would work for a small softy tank
