What would be the optimal AND the minimum GPH recommended for a 200G DT and a 75G (half full) sump. I will eventually have a couple of MP40's or Tunze 6105's for water movement but just curious before i pull the trigger on a new one!

Thanks

For a 200 gallon tank and a nice sized sump, I would look for a pump that would give me 800 gallons per hour to 1200 gallons per hour through the sump. After headloss. 4x to 6x the tank volume.

I've read some articles on turnover and heard that 5-10 times is good for tank but never heard that for the sump. Is that calculation different??
thx

Turn over is through the sump. I just phrased it weird.
But I happen to like a slower flow in the 4x to 6x the tank volume. IMO there is no need to push 10x.
There is the one system that advocates it, but it's not something I've done.
