I want to add mud to my refugium. How do I do this without shooting silt throughout my display tank?

Turn off your return pump. Add the mud, wait until the water settles, then turn your return pump back on.

Ok I did as was said above and added the mud and waited until it settled down and then I turned everything back on and it filled my display and sump with brown water will this put brown silt into my display tank or is that just water that will clear after the filter and also will my sand still be white or will it have brown in the sand now

You may end up with a micro thin brown layer of sediment but the grains will be more dense than the sand and will settle below in time. The amount of live rock and flow will determine the amount of time it'll take to settle. It could take a couple days or more for water to clear and longer for the silt to break below the sand line but there shouldn't be any long lasting aesthetic effects.... but of course what do I know?

What kicked up the mud from the Sump?? You have a power head in there?

Really? Hmm. Baffles and sponge in the sump baffles?

Yea I have baffles and a filter behind the refugium but only a filter on my mag 7 after

Doesn't that just suck. That shouldn't have happened. Strange that it did.
