Miracle Mud

I run miracle mud covered by live rock, marine pure under my chateo in the fuge/algae reactor under a kessil H350 and a kessil H80 (basically an H380 but slightly more powerful).

I think its just another substrate source for nitrifying bacteria but one thing is for sure, i always have a healthy pod population. My tank looks like it has a flea infestation late at night.

I have not ever used the miracle mud but I have Fiji mud in my sump, to me it seems to add some nutrients witch in my opinion are needed. I think it can also add some beneficial bacteria too

Hello everyone. Thanks for the opinions and your experiences.
As for us so far we’re happy, it seems to be working at least in our eyes.

we have not seen this Anemone in over a year and now it’s out and flowing like crazy.

I’m pretty sure you can see this one in other picture I’ve posted or the video and it hasn’t been happy since we moved the tank around.

I bought this piece a few months back it had mushrooms growing on the side and they were stinging it badly, I didn’t know mushrooms would sting other coral but it was receded back with the skeleton showing. We haven’t seen its feeders out ever.

again in the videos this colony of Duncans has been unhappy since the cabinet swap now out and happier again.

So after just 3 full days the pictures can speak for themselves. Everyone understands not all of our reefs run the same, but in our opinion so far this was a definite plus on our system. We should get our mangroves tomorrow and hopefully the new sump will be complete by next weekend.
Looking forward to your thoughts.
HAPPY REEFING!!!

Hello reefers, today our shipment of miracle mud arrived. I know there is a lot of mixed opinions about this stuff but I wanted to try it. I’m still in the process of building a 110gallon sump well that’s the new design anyhow, with around 70 dedicated to the refugium.
I added the mud today to our existing sump with some before and after pictures, and I’ll add reviews as it comes along.
Wasn’t sure how to add the video here.

These were how the tank and sump looked before. Hopefully we’ll see a difference in the next video. Now after adding the mud to the refugium I almost had a panic attack. A friend told me how he added his so that’s what I did [emoji848][emoji849]
First the sump

I almost cried. I have not left my tank in 8 hrs but it’s getting better now. 12:14 at night ughhh

bonus point for you if you happen to know the movie in the reflection lol. Thanks for looking.
HAPPY REEFING!!!
I just added mud to my sump as well. I fully drained the sump and added the mud with a garbage bag on top. There was no cloudy water at all.

Looking good so far and following along to get your long term review, with pics of the results.

I’ve read both kinds of Miracle Mud reviews. I’ve seen videos of people swearing by the stuff, but then I see their sump in later videos without mud and no mention of why they removed it. Not to sound like Julian Sprung, but I like the look of mangroves in sump mud, but I won’t have that kind of room in my stand unless I ever upgrade from 100g to a monster tank.
Just upgrade to a larger stand.

Experienced any benefit from using mud yet? Any more PE?
