I'd do it. I use mineral mud. I prefer miracle mud, but vendor I bought from carries other. I put in sump in open container 5 lbs for my 100 gallon total volume tanks. They say, "proof is in the pudding "

I plan on adding it to my remote refugium in my new build. I used a different mud in a previous system and it was teaming with pods, mysid etc.... My current build i went went a bare bottom sump and couldn't keep any type of noticeable pod population.

I believe you are thinking of Walt Smith's Fiji Mud but it should be available again.

Yes you can order it... its actually the stuff that's currently in the new build refugium. Just had not added to the new tank or water...rofl. Talk about not having any patience.
