Thanks, I'm going to see if i can have some glass cut tomorrow so i can start working on the external overflow box. Then I will start working on the stand. Hope to have it all running within the next few weeks.

tagging along! love the tank, do you know what ur putting in it once you get it all up and running?

Thanks!

I plan on putting Gobies in this, lots of tiny gobies hehe. Corals will be a mix of SPS and LPS, maybe some softies i dunno. Lighting will be 4 Par38 Dimable 12w bulbs, and the sump will be a 29 gallon so i can have lots and lots of tiny gobies lol. Also i'll throw my ole AquaC Remora Pro rated for 125 gallons on the sump.

Going to run this thing Peninsula style right next to my PC. I'll probably put some sexy shrimp and maybe a pom pom crab or two in here also.

awesome idea on the gobies and sexys! I was at my LFS looking for another pom pom the other day and they had like 50 gobies in a softies tank, I wanted to get a gold strip and blue stripe one for my lil invert heaven. but I ended up buying a harlequin shrimp, I need to get back up there before they all get sold again. lol

Did Marine Depot cut that notch out of the glass for the overflow?

@jiffy- Yeah I've wanted a goby tank for a long time :)

@Reeferon- No I cut out the notch with a Dremel and a diamond cutting wheel.

Had the glass cut today and put together the overflow box. Will retouch the silicone with a razor blade in a few spots in a few days when i go to drill the bulkhead hole.

Going to drill the bulkhead in overflow today then probably silicone the overflow onto tank. Will get some pics up later.

Leak tested overflow last night and it had zero leaks, was interesting to test since its an odd shape. I had to lay it at like a 30 degree angle and fill it with water.

Still gotta touch up that silicone, trying to find my razor glass scrapers still. I hope to have it fairly cleaned up and mostly match the silicone on the Mr.Aqua. Going to cut an acrylic top for this box too, the glass shop wanted an arm and leg to cut this glass so i left off the top piece lol.

Something interesting i'm going to try... making glass teeth for the overflow lol, we'll see how it goes.

Looking very cool!

The two have joined forces to become one superpower.

Got some wicked seams on this match up too :)

Also touched up the box silicone, looks pretty good.

Great start! Way to go with an external overflow. Do you plan on adding anything to cover it up from seeing the overflow piping through the tank or leaving it clear?

Keep the pics and updates coming!
