Shoutout to @tsmaquatics for a great fish! Just wanted to post how happy I am with an amazing fish. Survived 48 hours in shipping after a UPS delay and is healthy and gorgeous. Give this epic fish some love! He’s eating and happy

Indo-pacific in the background. Red Sea shows way more yellow on the chest. Indo-pacific has a white chest.

Cool to have one of each! Is the new one eating? I’ve had two of the Red Sea variety and they’ve both been nuts about flake food of all things.

Haven’t tried flakes. The new Red Sea has some confidence issues but I bought blood worms today and he went to town on them! The indo is eating LRS reef frenzy and competing with two blue tangs and an emperor angel in the water column.
I have flakes but haven’t tried. I’ll see if he reacts tomorrow, good idea.

Nice fish! Would have been better had you got both from the Red Sea though. Heard the Indo-Pacific specimens are notorious for not faring well.

I’m interested to hear how they do together. I have had an indo-pacific Regal for a little over a month now and its doing great. If it continues to do well I want to get a yellow belly and hope they don’t start eating my corals.

They’re actually doing really great together. The Indo is about an inch smaller than the new Red Sea so that might help. They sleep in the same cave with an Emperor Angel and a Blonde Naso (it’s a big cave). The only aggression I’ve ever really seen in my tank was the Emperor bullying the first regal for about an hour, then is stopped completely.

Coral nipping... Ya that’s present. I’ve noticed extra nipping the first day or two they’re in the tank but once they realize there’s gonna be plenty of food it calms down. They targeted zoas, acans, and took out a big bowerbanki (I think the Emperor was single-handedly responsible for that last one). The regal nipped favites once or twice but stopped doing that. They’ve completely ignored hammers, frogs, chalice, acros, mushrooms, blastos, and galaxia.
