So does anyone else have a problem with their urchins moving more than just shells, coral frags, or rocks? Mine is obsessed with my algae clips!!! Every time I put it back up he somehow gets it back on him, lol.

Yeah he's a very interesting fellow. He will glide up the side of the tank on his side sometimes with his mouth towards the ground. It looks like he levitates.

They are always getting into something. Wish I could put one in my new tank lol.

Mine stays hidden during the day and only comes out after my tank is in darkness. Only moves around on the back wall where I leave the coralline grow. Never knocks anything around or over.

He is out all day long. He doesn't really mess with my coralline to much.

I had a red tuxedo that would take off with corals, some of them never to be seen again. I recently got rid of him, fed up with his "helping." Depending on algae growth, I may regret it. It's hard to know how much a CUC member is helping till he's not in the tank anymore.

Wow, that's funny! I have a long spine that doesn't seem to disrupt anything. I think I'll stick with that. I have enough helpers

I don't think long spines are part of the group known as collector urchins, which includes tuxedos, pincushions, and some others. I've always wanted a long spine urchin, but none of my tanks are large enough.

I got mine off a guy selling corals on cl. I didn't know they aren't supposed to be "reef safe" never had an issue with it.
