Hi guys
Just added 3 little chromis to the tabk about 2 hours ago and 1 has vanished - gods honest truth ..

Would a fire shrimp eat a chromis as only other things in tank are 2 clowns, smoke snails and a blue hermit crab

Well ticked off

Yep, they do that. I started with 6. Next day down to 4, then a few days later 3, then 2. No idea where they went. Not on the floor, overflow, sump.... nowhere to be found. No predators in the tank. Probably wound up anemone food.
The 2 left have been doing great for 6 months.

It also depends on the type of chromis. The green/blue ones seem to exhibit the "sudden disappearances" more than any other, ie: bicolor, black bar or lyretail. I had one up and disappear about a week ago after being part of a "swarm" of 5 for almost 2 years. I'll probably find it happily swimming around in the overflow, lol.
