Missing clown fish

Hello everyone! My father in law has had many many reef fish in his past, we have made a medium reef tank with 2 clownfish, over a dozen small-medium hermet crabs and 2 shrimp, the clowns were still pretty small and didn’t managed to pair up, the one would bully the other like crazy to the back of the tank into hiding, the dilemma is we can’t find the second clownfish at all, looked in every nook and cranny... do you guys think if it died the hermit crabs would clean it up in less than 24hours? We can’t find a dead carcass if he’s dead and he won’t come out for food if he’s alive, what do I do

Did it jump out? Check ammonia levels of the tank

We have a tight lid in the top no holes so that’s canceled out

AIO system? Maybe it got into one of the compartments if so. Otherwise your CuC would be all over a dead fish.

It’s just a straight 10galon( doing a water change right now ) nothing for him to get into which is why we are so lost haha

In that mess hes somewhere. Also check your filter. Fish get into the craziest of places. I had a pvc diy siphon thing and yup definitely got a clown fish sucked into it. Thought dude jumped but nope he was in the sump.
