Hello,

Ive got a 32 biocube with 4 hermits, 3 tiny sexy shrimp, a camel shrimp, a BTA, 2 clowns and a baby blue tang. (Tang is only there temporarily as he was a rescue and in pretty bad shape and needed a calm environment to heal before going into main DT). This morning I noticed Courage, my smaller clown, was missing. Looked in the back where all pumps are nothing. Looked under the rocks with a light, nothing. All my hermits were visible too. Could the nem have eaten him??

check out the picture of the back chamber. It could be deep in a spot that’s not visible from the top. Had some friends recently find missing fish (alive) in the back chamber but they had to remove some of the black covering to see it.

Ah okay I will try that to see if he is back there! He is a little guy, but l didnt think he was that small. I did look with a light but l will take stuff out to see if he somehow ended up back there

I had one that kept jumping in. I don’t have the sponge between chamber 2 and 3 so it was able to swim between the chambers. I had to remove the pump to see it. I got some cheap vinyl gutter guard to put in the back of the tank so it couldn’t jump into the chambers. I can get a pic if you want of what I did.

I used a piece of vinyl gutter guard, for a couple dollars, from Menards (sku #: 1585121) similar to this picture:

There are similar products out there from aquarium supply stores (InTank Aquatics for about $24), that were made for the same application. But being handy I was able to save some money.

I had to trim it down significantly, from the bottom 'channel' of the guard to the top after trimming it is only about an inch tall. It was easy to trim using a utility knife to score then bend on the cut and it came apart.

I then put it on the piece that separates the filter chambers from the display tank side per the below picture:

I was having to 'rescue' the fish from the back chambers what seemed like weekly. Since adding the above piece, I haven't had to do any rescuing.

My little guy was hard to see in the chambers, I had to shine a bright light in them to finally find him.
