So I woke up this morning and during my daily inspection I noticed my mocha storm clownfish was missing. I first checked in the tank and am very certain it’s not in the tank hiding or it’s body. I then checked the back of my tank since it’s an aio tank and has a back chamber, nothing there as well I believe.

Any ideas of what happened? Would a cuc have been able to eat it in like 8 hours? I have an emerald crab, a bunch of hermits, and a mix of snails (dwarf ceriths, nassarius, Florida ceriths, and astraea).

I haven’t checked the inside of my return pump, could he have been sucked inside? I also checked the floor and couldn’t find it. I have no clue where it went.

It might just be hiding but do you have any crabs in the tank? Does the tank have a tight lid? And finally do you have any cats or dogs?

I have a small tank and I have a decent view of everything including hiding spots so I do not believe it’s hiding but I hope it is. I have an emerald crab introduced last week but it’s a small one. No the tank has been running without a lid recently as I have to run a fan due to the high temps and I don’t have cutouts on the lid. No cats or dogs to eat it if it did jump.

my clown fish went missing for a few hours a few weeks ago, i looked everywhere. and then i decided to look again and he was inside the overflow, il say look again.

What other fish do you have?
I have another clownfish, a fire fish and a two spot goby. The other clown is a tiny bit larger but I don’t think the clowns like each other as they occupy different areas of the tank usually and the one still in the tank (orange storm), would constantly go to annoy the mocha.

Thanks, yeah I’ll have to remove things and do a more thorough check

Check the back chamber again with a light he may be in there. My neon goby once just swam through the vent that sucks up water

Could they have gotten into an argument and the orange storm went homicidal?

Update, clown has been found under the skimmer in the back, it somehow jumped in there I guess and got stuck. Took me an hour getting him out but he's alive. Sadly he has some injuries, one of his front bottom fins is injured and his top is injured as well
