(2 Days ago) I purchased a wrasse from my LFS, I acclimated it and all that good stuff... He/She was doing great, eating swimming.

Then boom last afternoon is gone missing from the tank ?! He didn't jump out because I checked everywhere. Possible he's in the sand I heard they bury themselves but idk if that's true ... he was a big fellow about 4inch" no where to be seen... also this is the next morning and still no sight of him....

Give it some time.
What kind of wrasse was it?
As you know not all wrasses bury them self in the sand.
If he was as big as 4" you should also know a wrasse that big can jump as far as 6' from the tank.
Lets tag Hunter in here as he's our wrasse expert on the forum @evolved

Some wrasses will burry themselves. Knowing which species of wrasse it is would help.

Knowing the species will help, as some bury, some don't. A burying species staying in the sand for a few days is normal. Don't go digging around for it.

Check overflows and sump as well.

Is there an anemone in the tank? I've seen a few wrasses get eaten.

Thanks all for the replies the species is either a Halichoeres or Tail-Spot not sure I bought him straight from the QT and didn't see name tag... although here are the pictures

Just to clarify, the species name is Halichoeres melanurus, and one of the most popular common names is the Melanurus wrasse.

But +1 to giving it some time; do not dig it up. Staying buried a week or so after introduction is not unheard of.
