Very strange one i cant figure out. Had a watchman goby pistol shrimp pair. Anyway the goby jumped out of the tank at some stage and i found him on the floor, goodbye goby (since have installed a jump cover) . Pistol shrimp still going and digging as usual. The thing is i bought a six line, all great no issues, then one day after doing a water change he suddenly disapeared. Initially i thought nothing of it, i had my hands and tube in the tank and just thought he had hidden in the rockwork etc. After a couple of days of not seeing him i checked everywhere and i mean everywhere, rockwork, sump, floors, under cabinet, you name it i checked, totally disapeared. I did some reading and various people have said they can actually go into very small gaps in the rockwork (smaller than their body) so i figured wait it out see if he appears. I have a royal gramma, did a water change the other day, sure enough he hid but later that evening he came out had his grub did a bit of swimming etc, today he has disapeared, cant see him anywhere. I only have a smallish nano so its not like i have rocks everywhere and what holes/gaps i do have i can see quite clearly. Dunno what the heck is going on. Tell me its not the pistol shrimp to blame. He is as active as ever digging tunnels everywhere (which i dont mind). Im at a loss at the moment scratching my head

The shrimp could be to blame.

However....

I had a clown that completely disappeared, I didn’t have any shrimp in the tank, he was just gone without a trace. I also had a orchid dottyback, that never came out of the rocks.

I think sometimes it happens.
