MISSING NASO TANG?! HOW?!

I recently added a 4” Naso tang 2 days ago to my 120G. Last night at 9:30 he was in the tank getting ready to head to his sleeping spot and then an hour later I’m looking and he’s not there (I’m thinking he just has a good hiding spot). So I wake up this morning to NO NASO TANG

He did not jump I checked everywhere I have tight fitting tops. My only suspect is my haddoni carpet anemone. BUT HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? I did notice the carpet was closed a bit last night but not for long.
What do you think?!

I have no idea, but how big is this anemone? Can it eat a 4” fish?

Prob around 10x10. And idk I really wouldn’t think so

I have lost numerous fish to my S. Haddoni. You may find bones/partially digested carcass near nem...sorry for your loss.

That is unbelievable though. I think I’m gonna have to get rid of this carpet as much as I don’t want too.

A 4 inch Naso would be fine relatively short term but def too small long term.

Depending on your clean up crew, a dead fish can disappear in minutes. That carpet nem doesn’t look harmless either, is there a bulge under the skirt?

Trying moving him around can’t really tell. Looks like he always did. I’m going to have to get him out today I can’t lose anymore fish. Gonna be a nightmare gotta move around all my rock

Haddoni is notorious as a fish eater. 10" would easily eat a 4" fish. You'll know soon enough as the anemone will excrete the bones/scales/etc. By naso, I assume you mean a literatus? It's a clumsy fish, and an ideal candidate to blunder into the anemone. Mine is always getting itself pinned to a vortech. Kind of annoying actually.

Sadly, Definitely the Haddoni. I had a neon green one once like the size of a dinner plate years back. He ate two tangs, and in fact I caught him in the act, the tang was half in his mount and I tried to extricate him, but I swear to god it was like a bodybuilder on the other end gripping him. Im a big guy 6ft1 over 200lbs and couldn't pull him out. Funny thing, I learned something interesting my clowns were feeding him the fish. The male would entice the other fish to chase him and right into the Haddoni and them whamo! It was dinner time. Sorry dood, for your loss!
