How loud is the snap?

He has variable level snapping sounds but the loudest I would say sounds like the glass just cracked someone throwing a rock against the glass from inside the tank. Typically I would describe it as an electrical bosch relay that turns on underwater.

It's a little louder than cracking your knuckles or snapping your fingers

Just make sure your rocks are not sitting on top of the sand... will crush them the more the shrimp digs. Mine likes to move from one set of rocks to the other when lights are off.
