I suspect my damsel was subjected to some aggression, which resulted in a missing scale at the top of his head area - I thought it might be ick, but observing closer doesn't seem like it is as the 'whitish' area isn't round and small like ick.

Hoping it'll grow back in due time - don't know how long that would take, but is there anything that I need to do to speed up the healing, or prevent infections?

If you have optimal tank parameters fish generally heal fairly quickly (at the minor scratches, scrapes and missing scales do in my tank).
