I got a diamond watchman goby 4 days ago and I’m aware they do hide especially new fish in general, I think he might have made a cave in the back of the tank where I can’t see so I’ve been putting some food back there but still haven’t seen him. Any tips to help lure him out just so I can make sure he’s okay without taking apart the rocks, Water perimeters are stable and have been testing for ammonia.

Ive got two watchmen. They both hide! You should see him sometime, they come out when they are ready. I had one I never ever saw until I got him a pistol shrimp friend. That seems to help his confidence

Do the two watchmen get along? I thought I lost mine so added another and now, of course, he comes out of hiding. The new one is just hanging out on the sand on the other end of the tank. I have heard they will fight and now I'm nervous. I don't want either one to get hurt.

I got a Yasha goby who hid in a hole for 2 months. I didn’t see him once. I thought he had died. He eventually started poking his head out sometimes. I have no idea how he was getting good but he managed.

I wouldn’t worry about it for at least a couple of weeks or even more.

They get along fine! Only time I see small issues is when they both want to be in the hole with my pistol shrimp. They kinda take turns with the shrimp now, I plan on adding another pistol shrimp for the other goby when my LFS gets some in. The second edition is a pink spotted watchmen and he is about 3 times the size of my little yellow but he doesnt bully the yellow at all. Might have gotten lucky and have a male female, not sure. But they do stay at opposite ends of the tank Ive noticed

No problem! Might want to add another pistol as that seems to by my two gobys biggest issue with eachother is who gets to live in the cave with him
