Agreed^. Depending on the type of wrasse, some will hide in the sand bed till they feel comfortable. Can take days or even a week before they come out.

What type of wrasse is it?

Wrasses are known to hide in the sand or rocks. A feather duster eats tiny debris in the water I'd say it consuming the fish is highly unlikely at best. I'd just wait it out and keep observing, hunting for it won't do anything if it's dead and will stress it if it's not, as long as it's not on the floor, overflow etc assume it's in there somewhere.
