they can come out at night as well. or unless you are monitoring 24/7 - they can come out when you aren't looking?

My melanurus wrasse hid for several days after being transferred from QT to DT. I figured when he was hungry enough then he would come out. Sure did and ate a ton!

Don’t be alarmed. Same thing happened to me with my Leopard wrasse. He dove into the sand bed and he did not come out until 7 days later for the first time. Now he is out every single day with my light schedule. Worst thing you can do it’s try and find him by messing with the sand, just be patient!!

My Halichoeres chrysus chilled in the sand for 2 weeks and then another week he only came out for a few hours after lights out. Nothing to worry about.

I believe if sand burrowing wrasses die, they come out first. Not entirely sure about that though.

I've had a wrasse in my tank for 4 years that thing goes MIA for weeks and I think its dead then that nut just pops out of nowhere zipping around lol. But I did qt him for 6 six weeks prior to putting the fish in the system not just a dip. good luck!!!

its been almost a month...no sign of him...only nighttime predator is my strawberry crab..maybe he got him?

A month is a long time. Are you sure he isn’t coming out at night when your lights are off and you just never see him? If not, at this point a month in I would have to go searching
