Mistakes

How much my wife would totally lose interest at the loss of one of our first fish. Its like pulling teeth trying to get anything anymore.
Hopefully that BTA on your list will get her back into the swing of things!

That all my beautiful stony corals would die once my 6" DSB (deep sand bed) was fully saturated with filth.

It is absolutely amazing the amount of filth you can store between those teeny tiny sugar grains of sand. [emoji53]

It was my 1st salt water tank.
I was getting away with absolutely horrendous excessive choices because the DSB was masking all of my problems.
Until it wasn't, because it finally couldn't absorb any more.

Kind of like a kitchen sponge that just can't absorb anymore and starts leaking back out. [emoji53]

Current version of tank is bare bottom and stability is much more work.

My answer I wish I'd known about R2R before I started...then maybe I wouldn't have made so many bad choices and could have done some solid research instead of getting bad advice from a bad LFS ....it was a year before I found R2R ....

I wish I had know how important it was to maintain a certain level of DKH instead of just adding it with calcium and Iodine. Would have not killed at least 100 sticks. Also wish I could see the coral price wars coming. This is ridiculous these days. someones asking $2100 for a mushroom... Save the image and print it out to whatever size you want. All we are buying is colors.

Buy the tank that you actually want. Don’t just settle. Bought a 55g knowing it wasn’t what I wanted, 6 months later bought a Red Sea reefer 350, a year and a half into it and ready to upgrade to the peninsula 650 or the reefer 750
