So as in my introduction thread I'm from Cape Town, South Africa an amazing city right where the atlantic & indian oceans meet. Anyway I'm not going to convert measurements as it looks more, sorry I'm lazy that way lol... Kidding..
I have a little 700mm long x 600mm wide x 500mm high with 10mm thick glass 210 liter cube which I got for free & came with a metal stand with plywood cladding. The sump is 500mm x 450mm x 370mm high with 3 compartments. I run a reeftek TS1 skimmer with some cheato & feather caulerpa & a cheapo return 2200L/h pump which I'm looking to change to a diablo dc3000 in the near future. The overflow I must admit is in a silly position dunno why the guy who made it put it in that place.
There's 15kg of LR in the DT fine aragonite sand about 15mm deep & the tank has been running since 22-01-2013 & had a few gha issues but that's normal but am fighting with the red fluff of death (red cotton algae) but my mexican turbo snails & urchin are having a feast with it so I'm sort of winning the battle...
Fish list ATM.
2 x red scooter blennies
1 x blue stripe pipefish (I plan to get a few more)
1 x halloween hermit crab aka LIL MO (awesome little guy but doesn't like anything on his rocks so throws it of almost daily)
1 x Salmacis bicolor urchin.
Am waiting for 2 x yasha gobies & 3 x bluestripe pipefish from LFS which should land soon.
Coral list.
1 x red green favia (the red fluff of death has damaged it but it is recovering to it's former glory)
6 x green mushrooms
1 x singulara leather frag
1 x colt tree frag
Zoas erm dunno zoa names but feel free to assist to id them, I have about 11 different zoas mostly local but have been cultured so we do promote propagation.
I have several types of caulerpa in the DT as I was aiming for ponies but when I got some zoas I didn't want to risk putting ponies in but so far the pipefish has not been stung by the zoas (touch wood).
Pics to follow so please bare with me...
