Mix g3 pro g4 pro

hi guys
I got a 48x24x24
Got a g3 pro
And à g4 pro on rms on the tank
Im running the ab+ schedule at 55% right now
Im sps on top couple of lps on bottom

Should I put the wide lense on the g3 to get the intensity up due to the hei lense on the g4 ??
Thanks for your help if you need additional info just ask plz

Sadly, the G4 has a completely different lense pair that wont work on its predecessors. The G4, as ecotech put it, is in a class of its own. However, they do offer a lense for the earlier models that will probably do an adequate job as far as optics. Ill provide the link for you to read up on. I hope this helps[emoji38]

Also just realized you spoke of the TIR lenses and NOT putting g4 lenses on the G3. I tend to read too fast lol. So new answer; Yes, id use the TIR lenses. Haha

Alright so I put the tir lense on the g3 and ill Will put te power up a little bit thanks man

I dont think theres much of a difference as in output. Its more or less updated hard/software and optics. So you could probably run it at the same percentage unless you see an obvious difference on each side of the tank lol. But i havent looked into the g4s too much because itll probably make me want one haha

Haha yeah but I feel with the wide tir lense i Will get less hotspot on the g3 side
It's just for a month or two I will switch for à g4 in a couple of week get 2 of them and selling this g3 or may be ill keep 3 light over the reef not sure yet lol

Yes i would kamikaze. Also, look to see if your LFS has a PAR meter theyd rent you. That way you can adjust the g3 to the g4s output accordingly. If you decide to grab up a PAR meter and do a side by side, let me know the difference in readings.

I have two g3 pros and installed the wide angle lens. Definitely improved spread / reduced shadowing.
